A happy band of happy gentlemen directed by ‘clerk of the works’ Ken James have been busy preparing for the new outdoor season, undertaking some remedial work and painting outside and inside the clubhouse.
Now, it’s the turn of the ladies who are asked to attend next Monday, at 10 am, for the annual spring clean.
CLUB ACTIVITIES
There are a number of social evenings planned for the year, including a cream tea in July, a barbeque during open week and a Christmas pantomime in December.
There will be auditions to take part in the pantomime and any member interested should contact the ‘Saundersfoot Dramatic Society’ director Lynne Reyed for more details.
Come on, have a go and ‘oh no I won’t but oh yes I will!’
As well as the men’s and ladies leagues, there are many friendlies lined up and also a Pro Am night where members will bring along a non-bowling friend to introduce them to the game and August will also see the reintroduction of the John Badham Shield.
On opening day, April 7, you will find entry sheets for this year’s 17 club tournaments, as well as a notice regarding the popular Rossiters Pairs competition which this year will be held at Tenby on Monday, May 28.
Information regarding the Ladies Open Triples competition on Friday, June 1, and the Open Week event at the end of July will also be on the notice boards with entry forms.
A busy year is in prospect and of course new members are always welcome.
COUNTY TEAMS
On the ladies side, sheets have been posted on the county board for those interested in being considered for the West Wales Ladies county team trial and first two competitive matches, whilst notices regarding the men’s county teams can also be found there.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP
As reported previously, subscriptions are now due and treasurer David Davies would be pleased to receive as many as possible before opening day to avoid the queue!
