The finals of this year’s men’s county bowls competitions took place last weekend at Pembroke Dock, the home of this year’s president, Richard Hissey.

Eleven matches were held and pride of place must go to Richard O’Leary, of Haverfordwest, who played in four finals and won them all!

Close behind came Andrew Evans, of Whitland, who gained triple success.

Phil John and Tony Wilks, of Haverfordwest, and Ryan Thomas, of Tenby, won two events in what was a sun-blessed few days and expertly organised by the county competition secretary, David Summers.

The host club were thanked for their welcome and for providing food and liquid refreshment to the players and the many spectators who attended.

The two umpires, Collette Bethwaite and Malcolm Connor, were also thanked, as were the Dock members who marked the singles matches.

The winners now progress to the Welsh finals which will take place in Llandrindod Wells next month.
