Pembroke Dock (Park) Ladies have got the season off to a winning start having played two matches in the West Wales Ladies League.

They won their first two matches against Pembroke Dock Ladies and Milford Haven, picking up the maximum twelve points along the way.

Pembroke Dock BC is very fortunate to have sufficient lady members to be able to field two teams in the league. The below photo of Park Ladies was taken prior to the match against Milford Haven.

Meanwhile, the men played their first competitive fixture of the 2023 season at Whitland last Saturday in the preliminary round for the Carruthers Shield. Across Wales, almost 300 clubs take part in the prestigious competition and are split into 64 groups with the group winners then progressing to the knockout stage.

Coming up against a strong Whitland side, ‘The Dock’ won on two rinks and lost on two rinks, in the end going down to a 78 shots to 66 shots defeat.

With the coronation ceremony taking place next Saturday, the match against Fishguard has been put back 48 hours.

No doubt Fishguard will be on a high after winning their opening match against Haverfordwest.
