SATURDAY saw Heatherton hosting the Newport team who normally have a very strong squad.
This was a crucial Welsh Indoor Premier Bowls League fixture for Heatherton who needed to register points after a poor start to the season.
Split as usual into two sessions , the morning rinks skipped by Cameron White, John Roberts and Berwyn Dennis played very well.
Unfortunately Berwyn was very unlucky and lost by three shots, the other two rinks winning they handed over a 15-shot lead to the afternoon rinks ,and reregistering four valuable points.
The afternoon rinks skipped by Chris Court , Paul Diment and Ryan Thomas set off at a cracking pace and maintained their form throughout, running out comfortable winners.
This meant that Heatherton registered 20 well deserved and much needed points. Heatherton,s next game is away to Islwyn on Nov 8th, start time 2pm.
Over 60s

The hosts fielded a very strong team which included a couple of ex-Welsh international players.
Although playing very well Heatherton were unable to come away with any points.
