On Saturday, Tenby Sharks welcomed Haverfordwest St. Thomas on what was a warm afternoon at the Sutton Street green.

The Tenby side were looking to maintain their winning run and keep up the pressure on the other teams challenging for the league, and they did not disappoint.

Rink one consisted of Luke Rees, Shaun Peregrine, Tenby captain Ben Cloake and skip Keiron Peregrine. It was a strong performance by the Tenby four, and an especially good game from Shaun, who was gearing up for his special Olympic event up in Sheffield in a few days time. The Tenby rink won by 11 shots.

Rink two saw Andrew Muskett’s rink, who was supported by Dai Rees, the returning Andrew Morse, and Joe Richards. A strong performance by the rink lasted throughout and they finished eventual winners by 17.

Rink three saw the brand new Tenby Gold Cup champion John Roberts, and his rink of Dion Peregrine, John Cully and Peter Hooper. Success continued for JR, as he and his men won by 14 shots.

Finally, on rink four, Peter Day took on skipping duties as he was with Cameron White, Evan Day and Mike Jackson. A brilliant second half display by the Sharks who won their rink by 13 shots.

This was another great win for Tenby taking all 14 points available. Again, a massive congratulations goes out to John Roberts for winning the Gold Cup. The Sharks and everyone at the club are proud. We also wish Shaun Peregrine all the best as he represents Wales in the Special Olympics event at Sheffield.

Tenby Arches Ladies v St. Issell’s

On Monday, Tenby Arches Ladies travelled to Saundersfoot to play the St. Issell’s ladies on a pleasantly warm afternoon.

On rink three, Carol, Meryl, Jan and Gerry got off to a slow start and despite scoring three on the eighth end were 11-5 down when they stopped for tea. By the 14th end, they had increased their score to eight, while St. Issell’s were on 13. This proved to be unlucky for St. Issell’s and Tenby had now found their rhythm and settled into the game. They won nine out of the last 11 ends and the final score was 21-13 to Tenby.

Over on rink four, the first half was very close, with Katie, Liz, Jo and Gill keeping up with the St. Issell’s ladies. It was 9-8 to St. Issell’s at the half-way point. Unfortunately, Tenby dropped two consecutive fives on the 11th and 12th ends, which changed the game completely. Despite their best efforts, Tenby could not repair the damage and the game ended with St. Issell’s 24 Tenby 19, making Tenby the overall winners by just three shots.

Tenby Arches Ladies are sponsored by the Tenby House Hotel.
