The annual Pembrokeshire schools Valero Refinery Pembroke boccia competitions took place at Milford Haven Leisure Centre recently.
Ten teams competed in the primary school competition and eight in the secondary schools event.
Fenton’s strength in depth shone through in the final of the primary competition after they beat off the challenge of Glannau Gwaun and Monkton Stars to win 8-0.
Portfield and Pembroke Dock Community also competed.
In the secondary schools competition, two teams from the Pembroke Autism Centre competed for the title with the Panthers beating the Dragons 4-1.
Other schools to compete included Bro Gwaun, Portfield and Sir Thomas Picton.
The games were refereed by Liz and Sian Jones from Crymych Panthers and Lionel Allen and Brian Jenkins from Saundersfoot Rotary.
Organised by Sport Pembrokeshire, Pembrokeshire County Council’s sports development section, the competition continues to impress with three competitors asked to attend training sessions with the Crymych Panthers Boccia Club to further their skills.
Before the winning teams and runners-up were presented with trophies by Will James from Valero Refinery, Pembroke, the events’ sponsors and all competitors wished Sian Jones, of Goodwick, and Crymych Panthers good luck for her trip to compete for Wales at the 2018 British Boccia Championship in Scotland this month.
