The first round of the Alec Colley Cup has got under way with few delays despite the inclement weather and as expected the usual suspects have made it though to the next round.

Johnston travelled to Narberth and defeated the home side by 10 runs in a tight contest, the Tigers batting first and scoring 137 for 7 with Andrew Williams taking 4-40 and Mike Williams 2-27.

The home team fell agonisingly short despite losing just six wickets as Owen Richards stroked 40 with Andrew Williams (16), Mike Williams (18 not out) and Brinley Toms (17) all getting a start but failed to push on passed the post.

Lawrenny easily accounted for Pembroke Dock as they sailed past the visitors total of 70 all out for the loss of just three wickets.

Peter Kingdom top scored for the Dock with 23 but three wickets from Steve Cole and two apiece by Ben Cole, John fuller and William Morris ensured the total was never going to be a testing one.

Matthew Lewis wasted no time in getting things moving as he stroked an assured 33 not out alongside Fuller's knock of 10 and an unbeaten 13 from John Beff.

Lamphey lost to Hundleton as the visitors defeated the Stags by one wicket in the last over of the game. Accurate bowling by Hundleton restricted the home side to 94 for 4 as Mark Yea top scored with 23 and Hywel Gibbs hitting a laboured 16. Martin Carroll and Andrew Skeels both struck 13, but accurate bowling by David Pratt (2-13), Dan McNiffe (1-24) and Steffan Williams (1-1) ensured a lower than expected total was set.

Wickets fell at regular intervals but Paul Edwards hit 22 and Steve Williams 26 not out to see them home. Andrew Skeels took three wickets while Hywel Gibbs and Mark Yea took two apiece.

Bosheston and Stackpole lost by 24 runs away at St. Ishmaels as the home side racked up 143-3. Despite Roger Lewis's brisk 57 and double figure scores for Huw Davies and Keith Adie, they were never quite able to get up with the run rate and finally fell short on 119-6.

Finally, Cresselly eased to a win away at Llanrhian as they chased down their target of 93 for the loss of five wickets. Tom Arthur took 5-15 for the visitors and Bobby Webb 2-15 with Scott Arthur hitting 20, Sam Harts an unbeaten 20 and 16 apiece by Richard Harris and Nick Davies in reply.
