If you care about Tenby and want to make your voice heard, why not join the Civic Society?

The things that they do include:

• maintaining Allen's View as a local beauty spot and viewpoint, for the benefit of residents and visitors;

• providing Tenby Historical Trails and blue plaques to help people know and enjoy Tenby heritage;

• making representation to the National Park Authority and County Council concerning planning applications, supporting those which improve the town and giving reasoned objections to those which spoil it;

• making direct contact with developers and property owners on issues of concern that affect our town;

• running an awards scheme to recognise those who improve Tenby;

• organising group visits including town tours and visits to places of historical and architectural interest, those planned for 2013 being to The National Botanic Garden on May 12, The National History Museum at St. Fagans on July 6 and a Dylan Thomas tour of Swansea in early September.

The more members the society has, the stronger is its voice.

The more members who are prepared to play an active role on the committee, the more it can achieve.

If you would like to find out about the society, why not go along to their annual general meeting at 2 pm tomorrow (Saturday) at Augustus Place, or pick up a copy of their leaflet and membership form from Albie Smosarski at Cofion Books.
