The principal guest at the Tenby and District Lions Charter Dinner at the Giltar Hotel on June 14 was District Governor Sally Marsh.
She was accompanied by her husband, Colin, who is District Officer for Young People.
Colin used this opportunity to present four Sea Cadets and one Guide with the Lions Clubs International ‘Young Leaders In Service’ Award.
These Awards are presented to young people who have given many hours of service to help others. Catherine Holden, the Guide, has completed over 100 hours of community work within 12 months while the four Sea Cadets have each completed over 50 hours of voluntary work.
Catherine received the Gold Award and the Sea Cadets received the Silver Award.
In presenting these Awards Colin congratulated the young people and said it was a real pleasure to meet the recipients as normally his role is to receive the applications, fill in the Certificates and send them to the Lions Clubs.
