Young photographers in Pembrokeshire have been praised for the high standard of their entries in a new local photography competition.

The Pembrokeshire Fish Week 'Flotsam and Jetsam' open competition prompted a large number of creative interpretations on the theme of materials found on the beach and coastline.

Kate Morgan, Fish Week organiser and food officer for Pembrokeshire County Council, congratulated all the entrants.

"The standard was exceptional and the enthusiasm shown for the event was great," she said. "We will be running it again for Fish Week 2008 - as well as a new competition for adults." The winners were chosen by Welsh Photographic Federation judges Alan Jones, Ray Hine, and Harry Gardiner, of Tenby Camera Club.

The winners were: Seven-10 years: 1. Elise Cox, of Tenby, family ticket for Silent World; joint 2. Theo Rook, of Penally, Phoenix Bowl voucher, and Jack Parkinson, of Begelly, Phoenix Bowl voucher.
