Contestants, between the ages of 12 and 18 inclusive from the surrounding area, are invited to enter the competition in which the winner will win the PJ Promotions Challenge trophy together with £50 cash and automatic progression to the next round.
The runner up will receive a prize of £30 and the third will win £20. An accompanist is available if required.
"Each contestant will receive a certificate and it will give them good experience in appearing before the general public," said the organiser, Rotarian Neil Jackson. "We had a very good contest last year, with instrumentalists performing on a wide variety of string, woodwind and brass instruments.
"There is a huge pool of talent in the area and I'm sure we will have another excellent competition this year," he added.

Friends and relatives are welcome and light refreshments will be provided.
