More than 400 young farmers from Pembrokeshire visited Wales' top theme park last week in a bid to boost club membership following huge losses during the foot and mouth crisis.
Pembrokeshire Young Farmers Club County President, Edna Davies, and County Chairman, Anthea Phillips, were among the hundreds of members who were offered free entry to Oakwood Park last Sunday as an incentive to renew membership after a year in which affiliation has fallen by almost one third.
Said YFC County Organiser Dill Williams: "We had a fantastic response to the incentive offer and as a result there has been a large increase in membership. The atmosphere on the day was so enjoyable and has been a great boost to morale after a year in which the foot and mouth stopped all of the usual shows, rallies and fun events. We would like to thank Oakwood Park for their help in making this possible."
The trip to Oakwood was the first social event of the new season and was attended by 13 different Young Farmers Clubs from across Pembrokeshire. The YFC club mascot Taff the Dog also enjoyed the day out!
Anyone who has not yet renewed their membership and still wishing to can contact County Organiser Dill Williams on 01437 762639.
