Emmajune Vaughan is obviously a young artist with bags of talent! And to prove it, the seven-year-old from Jeffreyston has just been chosen as a regional winner and finalist in a national children's art competition, sponsored by Ribena with local store group, Londis. For the popular competition, children, aged 11 and under, were invited to send in pictures of their best friend. Emmajune did just that, and the judges were so impressed with her entry - a delightful, vibrant drawing done in crayons, of her best friend wearing a rainbow-coloured top - that they chose it as a one of the regional winners. The entry will now go forward to compete with other regional winners in the national final, with an exciting prize awaiting the best overall. And if she wins the main prize - a family trip to Lapland to see Father Christmas - Emmajune's drawing will also be reproduced on 29 million Londis carrier bags and on the side of their delivery lorries. Emmajune received her regional prize, a Crayola art kit, from Mr. Anthony Dunn, owner of the Londis store in Jeffreyston. Seen with them is shop manager Sibeal Hughes.
