SpanJazz returns with Afternoon In Paris; an evening of authentic jazz music with influences from Hot Club of France on Thursday, July 13, at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth.
Afternoon In Paris is always a big hit in Narberth thanks to it being a marvellous medley of highly skilled and talented musicians. The band provides tasteful interpretations of the unmistakable sounds of Miles Davies, Nina Simone and Louis Armstrong.
As well as their vast repertoire of traditional jazz songs, they play a more contemporary jazz whilst also adapting popular modern songs to a jazz aesthetic.
The band’s diverse musical background and countless amounts of influences are what makes them so unique and exciting. Their feelgood gypsy swing will leave you in awe. From ultimate guitar licks to eloquent clarinet, this sophisticated and unprecedented evening is truly one of a kind.
Members of the band have performed with some of the biggest names in pop and jazz, including Leona Lewis and Charlotte Church, as well as performances with The BBC Big Band and Jamie Cullum for ITV, the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky Arts.
Span Arts’ long-running jazz monthly takes place in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere at the wonderful Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth.
