The Wales Federation of Young Farmers Clubs sports day was held at the Brecon Leisure Centre, Brecon, recently.
During the day, teams representing various County Federations from all over Wales competed in the Wales YFC seven-a-side women's hockey, the junior kwick cricket, women's netball, men's seven-a-side football and a ten-pin bowling competition.
Following a full day of sporting activities, it was the Montgomery Federation that were the overall winners, and they will be awarded the Carmarthenshire Cup at the Wales YFC AGM to be held on September 19 in Tenby.
Ceredigion were the winners of the seven-a-side women's hockey, with the Pembrokeshire Federation proving that their junior members were best at the kwick cricket. The ladies of Brecknock Federation won the women's netball, with the lads from Montgomery winning the men's seven-a-side football. The best bowling technique belonged to the Carmarthenshire Federation.
Traditionally the Wales YFC sports competitions have been held as a part of the AGM weekend in September, however following suggestions received by members, the organisation decided to hold a day purely designated to the sporting competitions.
The day gave YFC members from all over Wales the opportunity to come together and participate in sporting activities.
