THE Academy of Children's Writers are pleased to announce the 23rd annual 'Write a Story for Children Competition'. This is the most prestigious competition for unpublished writers of children's books in the UK. With over 2,000 entries received in 2007, it proves that writers everywhere are on the alert for this announcement each year. The first prize in 2008 will be a cheque for £2,000, with second and third prizes of £300 and £200 respectively. Entrants must be over the age of 18 and unpublished. Self published entrants are allowed. Closing date for entries is March 31, 2008. All entrants will be informed of the winners by the end of May 2008.
