Work finally started yesterday (Thursday) on re-developing a local children's play park overlooking Tenby's South Beach.

Tenby Town Council has spent the past six years trying to get plans for the toddler park at the Jubilee Play Area off the ground, and were delighted to get the green light earlier in the year for the £36,000 scheme.

The scheme, which has been part funded by a 'community play area' grant from Pembrokeshire County Council will see the park redeveloped to include play equipment for children under five years of age.

The Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, was on hand to cut the first sod at the land yesterday, with workers from Redlynch Leisure Installations, who are specialists in developing children's play areas and installing play equipment.
