Work has begun this week on giving one of the main gateways into Tenby, The Green, a new look. Pembrokeshire County Council, as part of its commitment to ongoing environmental improvements to Tenby over recent years, is carrying out improvements to the area of open space beneath the viaduct between St. John's Hill and Greenhill Road. The work includes removal of the old road, replacement of fencing with railings incorporating the wording 'Welcome- Croeso', improved seating for park users, tree and hedge planting and improvements to the footpaths. Although the work won't be fully completed by Easter, as at first planned, it will be open to the public by then, a local authority spokesperson said yesterday (Thursday).
