Work has started on the £8m redevelopment of Tenby's former magistrates court into luxury apartments.
Developer Macob (Tenby) Ltd, a joint venture between South Wales developer Macob and Anglodefine, was granted planning by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority last year for the extensive redevelopment of two Grade II listed sea-front buildings - the Guildhall and the neighbouring Glendower House, into 20 apartments and one town house.
The developer has appointed Swansea-based Graven Construction to carry out construction works on 'The Guildhall' situated between the Norton and Croft.
The Guildhall was formerly home to the offices and council chamber of Tenby Borough Council and Tenby Town Council.
The building is linked to Glendower House which formerly housed the Tenby tourist information centre. The first floor of Glendower House was also formerly the offices of the Tenby employment exchange.
Wayne Rees, director of Macob (Tenby), said: "The Guildhall is a luxury development comprising three properties - Nash House, Court House and Glendower House, situated right in the heart of Tenby. The scheme has been designed to blend with the Georgian terrace that dominates The Croft.
"The apartments and town house are now available, with completion of the whole scheme scheduled for spring 2012. The first 10 apartments will be complete and available to move in to this summer."
The appointed selling agent is Birt and Company.
Giles Birt, of Birt and Company, said: "All the apartments have stunning views over Tenby harbour and North Beach and secure undercroft parking.
"One, two and three-bedroom apartments are available, with prices starting from £220,000. In addition, there is Nash House, a five-bedroom town house with secure car parking and private garden."
