Tenby's relief Tamar lifeboat launched, with paramedics on board, at approximately 8.28 am on Saturday to go to the aid of a 76-year-old woman who had collapsed on Caldey Island suffering from a suspected stroke.
The ALB quickly arrived at Caldey and the paramedics attended to the casualty, put her on a stretcher and she was taken aboard the lifeboat.
As she was very unwell, an RAF rescue helicopter was tasked and airlifted her off the lifeboat and flew her straight to Morriston Hospital in Swansea.
Tenby Coastguard rescue team were in attendance.
