Withybush Hospital has featured for the first time in a list of the top 40 hospitals in the United Kingdom. CHKS, the leading independent healthcare benchmarking company, compiles the list every year using criteria including mortality rates, MRSA figures, and the number of cancelled procedures. In commenting on the successful hospitals, CHKS chief executive, Graham Harries, said: "These success stories should not only give patients faith in their health service, but also reward staff for their dedication and efforts to improve their performance and provide the best service they can."
This latest accolade comes hot on the heels of Withybush being recognised by Saga as best in Wales for treatment of the over-50s and also follows the news that the hospital has one of the lowest rates of MRSA infection.
Newly-appointed chief executive, Keith Thomson, is delighted. He said: "Congratulations to all staff for their hard work and commitment. I have been impressed with the number of talented staff we have and I am sure we can improve our services even further."
