WOW! The Winter Open at Oriel Q Narberth has attracted over 100 pieces of art, including sculptures, ceramics, abstracts, local scenes and work done in every style and every media. This is going to be like the Royal Academy, chocabloc with delight.

Opening tomorrow (Saturday), at 2 pm, with mulled wine and refreshments to add to the atmosphere - this is a must to get the festive season off with a swing.

The gallery put out a call nationwide for contributions and has been overwhelmed by the response, receiving work from all over Wales, Bristol, London and even one quirky entry from Australia involving paper sculpture!

There are works by well-established artists such as Roy Ayres, Diana Heeks, Philippa Sibert, Elisabeth Haines, David Hands, Osi Rhys Osmond and more, plus students from Carmarthen Art College and new artists emerging in response to the theme of ‘open to everyone.’

Curator Lynne Crompton says it is important to give people the chance to show their work irrespective of training or status, and as the gallery usually shows more contemporary or challenging art, this is an opportunity to appeal to the more popular culture, which includes decorative and traditional representative work.

Definitely something to suit and stimulate everyone’s taste and a good opportunity to buy Christmas presents or treat yourself. There are gift vouchers available and all work may be purchased on an interest free scheme.

It will be open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm, until December 22 or other times on request.
