The winners and runners-up of this year's Pembrokeshire Fish Week poetry competition, 'Angling for Words', have been presented with their prizes at Haverfordwest Library. "The poems were all of a very high standard, and I would like to congratulate the entrants on their work," said Clr. Mark Edwards, cabinet member for communities and partnerships. Winners were: 1st prize 11s and under: Lucy Gleed from Tenby with 'The Amazing Thing', who won a season ticket for four at Theatr Gwaun, Fishguard. 2nd prize: Leoni Beard from Pembroke with 'The Angelfish', who won a £20 book token. 1st prize 12-17 years: Ffion Haf from Dinas Cross with 'The Merman', who won a one-and-a-half- hour seal and porpoise watching trip with Voyages of Discovery. 2nd prize: Naomi Nicholas from Clunderwen with 'My Wish', who won a voucher for a pair of Crocs from JellyEgg. 1st prize 18 years and over: Eric K Morrissey from Llechryd with 'The Modern Coracleman', who won £100. 2nd prize: Anne-Marie Butler from Haverfordwest with 'The Trawler Man', who won a Rockpool print from Andrew Bailey. The entries were judged by storytellers and writers Elin Alaw and Dylan Adams.
