Alex Pickersgill is currently in Yr 13 at Dyffryn Taf, in the final year of his A-level studies, and hopes to go on to university next year. Alex plays centre for Whitland Youth and also for the Scarlets Under 18s. Alex was recently selected for the Crawshays Under 19s, a Welsh invitational side of players selected from the different regions. The Crawshays side faced the Irish Exiles on March 15 at Old Deer Park in Richmond, home of London Welsh. The Crawshays side won the match 33-12 and Alex was delighted to score the first try, to help the side on the way to victory. "It was an honour to be selected for this prestigious side and to be a part of this match against the Irish Exiles. It was a great experience that not many people get and is something I will always remember," said Alex.

James Davies is currently in Yr 12 at Dyffryn Taf, in the first year of his A-level studies. James plays open-side flanker for Whitland Youth and for the Scarlets Under 18s. James was selected for the Wales 18s in February and travelled to Ireland over Easter to compete in the Six Nations Tournament held in Cork. James received his first cap against Ireland and his first start against Italy. The Welsh side had an excellent tournament, winning all three of their matches. They lost out on the overall title, with only a last-minute defeat to England back in February preventing them from emulating the senior side's Grand Slam achievements. "It was great to be involved in this tournament. Being away in Ireland for 10 days in such a professional environment was a great experience. Playing rugby at this level was a lot more physical and the pace of the game was much quicker, which made it challenging. I really enjoyed the whole tournament and it was good for my development as a player," said James.
