Rugby Club

Next Wednesday, May 13, Whitland play Narberth in the Chevron Pembrokeshire Cup Final, to be held at Crymych RFC, kick-off 6.30 pm.

The Annual Lunch will be held on Sunday, May 24, at the Nant-y-Ffin Hotel, at 12.30 pm. Cost is £20 each and names should be given to Phil at the club as soon as possible.

Bingo will be held at the club tonight (Friday) from 8.30 pm.

Memorial Hall

Weightwatchers is held at the Memorial Hall every Monday evening at 6 pm.

Cricket Club

Last week's winners of the 49 Club were John and Jane Davies with number 20.

A committee meeting will be held next Tuesday, May 12, 8 pm at the club.

Tonight (Friday), the Die Hards play St. Clears AFC, starting at 6 pm.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Whitland 1st XI are away to Cresselly 1st XI, the 2nd XI are home to Crymych 1st XI, while the 3rd XI are home at Llanddewi to Camrose and Spittal 2nd XI. All matches start at 1.45 pm.

On Sunday, Pembrokeshire 14s play Gwent, with an 11 am start.

Bowling Club

Two teams of ladies from Whitland Bowling Club entered the Pendine Triples on Saturday, April 25.

Both teams got to the semi-finals, only to lose by one shot. Cally Jones, Sue Evans and Jo Shewry went out to Stella, Anne and Beryl, while Diane Scourfield, Val Whiteford and Josie Wills lost to the Llangennech trio, who went on to win in the final against Carmarthen.

It was a good day in all, even though the weather was against them.

It was nice to see old and new friends again, and hopefully there will be an improvement in the weather for the remainder of the season.

Meat draw

Winners of the Whitland Sports and Social Club meat draw this week were as follows: £15 meat voucher - Boo; £15 meat voucher - Roger; two pints - Anne (Bah); £10 - Clanger.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the first three prizes will be the same again, with the fourth being £5 cash, for which the winner must be present to claim the prize.

Carnival Queen selection

Selection for this year's Whitland Carnival Queen and her attendants will take place at the town's Sports and Social Club on Friday, May 15, at 7.30 pm.
