Whitland Bowling Club held a member and novice competition last Sunday

Well organised by young Dan Jenner and sponsored by Robert Kersey, the event attracted 17 pairs of all ages and proved to be an excellent bowling and social success.

The most intriguing draw saw two 10-year-old young ladies, Katie Thomas, already a member of Whitland ladies team, and Amberleigh Whitehouse, both daughters of Whitland skips, against senior John Addison and Charlie Rodea - bowls is certainly a game for all ages!

The semi-finalists were John Addison and Charlie Rodea against Hannah Thomas and Adam Davies, Hannah and Adam winning.

The other semi-final was between Dan Jenner and Robert Shipton against Glyndwr Thomas and Frankie Setaro, Glyn and Frankie winning.

After an exciting final, Glyndwr and Frankie eventually ran out winners against Hannah and Adam.

Captain Huw 'Bean' Nicholas was delighted that many of the novices showed excellent potential and he hoped that many would join the club and enjoy both bowls and the social activities of Whitland Bowling Club.
