Phoebe, the search dog, is the latest member of 2420 ATC Squadron.
At Monday's parade, the cadets were shown demonstrations of the special skills these dogs have to find tobacco, drugs and explosives.
Phoebe and her trainer Stuart Philips from Clynderwen-based BWY Canine will be visiting the squadron every Monday evening to train the dog with the help of the cadets.
This weekend, the cadets will be taking part in a sponsored walk around Llysyfran reservoir. The cadets are raising funds for new computer equipment needed to continue with their training.
Five cadets took part in a practice Duke of Edinburgh walk around the St. David's area. The cadets performed a navigation exercise on Saturday, camp craft training and on Sunday a day walk and navigation training from Porth Clais to Whitesands. The cadets will now take part in the DofE assessment weekend on the weekend of October 12. On completion of this, they will be awarded their Bronze DofE.
Over the last few weeks, the cadets have been busy gaining their classifications. There are the badges awarded for training. The most recent awards are Corporal Luke Reynolds attaining his leading cadet award and Flight Sergeant Jack Brennan gaining the highest classification in the ATC the master cadet award.
