Sir,
I write as a very concerned parent regarding the pedestrianisation which will this year encompass July and August.
I am particularly concerned that this has been extended into July without any obvious thought about parents collecting children from school. As a parent who both works and lives within the town walls this will cause immense difficulty.
In the past it has not been a problem for me to pop out of work to collect unwell children. This situation will be incredibly difficult for us as a young family, but my sympathy goes to older and less mobile parents who depend on their car to collect their children from school.
I am sure that every parent is fully aware of the very real dangers our children face on the streets on Tenby?
Many parents/grandparents are going to be actively prevented from collecting their children and transporting them safely home.
As far as I can see, people living and working within the town walls are being penalised for doing so. These decisions are being taken with little or no consultation with people in Tenby. This policy is being decided by people who probably do not have children in Tenby schools, people who do not work in Tenby and again probably people who do not live within the town walls of Tenby.
It does beg a question as to where the pedestrianisation scheme will end.
