Sir,

With regard to the site of the old Coburg garage in Upper Frog Street, this really is the very last chance for some good to be done for Tenby town and for the benefit of its visitors.

Before any serious building is begun, is it not possible for Tenby Town Council, Pembrokeshire County Council, Cadw and the National Park to get together with a compulsory purchase order, paying market price for the site. No doubt financial assistance could be had from Government sources, and possibly, a Lottery grant?

This piece of priceless heritage is worth fighting for, and as I have previously stated a few weeks ago, it would be an ideal venue for visitors in inclement weather. Imagine the site, grassed over, with alcoves all around to sit under, a bandstand at the far end, a tea and ice cream bar, with some soft music!

Viewing the hoarding advertising these luxury apartments, remember that this accommodation will not mean affordable homes for local young couples setting up home. In the main, these will be holiday homes for people from away who have large fat wallets.

Citizens of Tenby, please let us hear your voices.
