What does the council think it is doing shutting down the De Valence.
Tenby is dependent on tourism and to be able to advertise a programme of events such as were put on last year at the De Valence was a very good boost to tourism.
Many of the visitors who come this year will have heard of the very good family entertainment, plays and other events that were put on last year and expect the same this year; they will put off coming again and so will the friends and relations they have told about it.
I do not understand the council's reasons, as financially they will be no better off than if they had given the grant originally promised, as rates, insurance and maintenance of the building will surely cost an equal amount.
Perhaps our council is jealous that the De Valence was not a success under their management before the Trust took over?
Please let Tenby have back its only good venue for mixed events.
