Sir,
Re: Joy Ford-Kicinski's letter of January 28 about the South Beach development.
1. How did they get planning permission for so many flats?
2. How big is the frontage (or patio area) going to be? Will it encroach onto the sand?
3. I was told that x number of apartments were to be 'affordable housing'. Have you seen the price of these apartments? Not what I, or other people, would call 'affordable'!
I also find the fact that the National Park has not bothered to get in touch with Joy quite strange. After all, they stick their nose in over the most stupid things (i.e. the colour you want to paint the outside of your house).
Also, while we are on the subject of building, housing and 'eyesores', can anyone tell me what is happening to the old Tenby Cottage Hospital site? Or is that going to be sold to a private developer who promises 'affordable housing' that people from Tenby couldn't afford unless they won the lotto jackpot?
Pat Greenhorn.
Tenby.
Footnote: The 'affordable housing' condition of the South Beach development is that five units have to be provided within the area of Tenby Town Council, with the specific sites to be approved by the National Park Authority - Editor.
