Sir, Re. the council report 'Pedestrianisation to be extended?' (Observer, January 23), I read that Clr. Evans was "desperately worried" about the 'Park and Ride' scheme being withdrawn, and the "devastating impact on the prosperity of Tenby... when there are no spaces left in the multi-storey". Having seen how quickly the exterior stairs have been erected at the multi-storey, it occurs to me (again!) what an advantage it would be if similar stairs could be made over the railway from the Salterns car park to give visitors access to the South Beach. I accept that this doesn't give direct access to the town shopping area, but, if we can get visitors to the beach, at least they won't abandon Tenby altogether, as Clr. Evans fears, and if we can get them to the beach, the shopping will surely follow.
