A Pembrokeshire talent contest is to be judged by a top music industry professional!

Jordan Kensington, entrepreneur, TV presenter and founder of the Urban Music Awards will be on the panel for Fishguard's Battle of the Bands contest in June.

Jordan, whose interests centre around the Invincible Music Group, is also the founder of British Music Week - an annual London-based music festival featuring over 100 bands and artists.

He will be joined on the judging panel by Machael Laushcher, BMW's general manager, Bill Davies, director of the Celtic Blue Rock Festival, and Clr. Rob Lewis, cabinet member for cultural services.

"We're thrilled that these top music professionals have agreed to join us for this event," said Clr. Lewis.

"It's the first Battle of the Bands contest we have organised and is intended to be a major showcase for rock talent in our county."

The competition will be held at Theatre Gwaun in Fishguard on Saturday, June 13, and is open to any unsigned band in Pembrokeshire.

In addition to a cash prize of £350, the winning band will also be awarded - by British Music Week - complimentary delegate passes to British Music Week 2009 and a chance to perform at British Music Week.

Second prize is £100 and third prize £50.

Prizes will be presented on the night by Clr. Rob Lewis.
