The Society of Local Council Clerks in West Wales is holding a meeting on Saturday, September 22, at St. Peters Civic Hall, Carmarthen, at 10.30 am. The branch is fortunate to be addressed by Mr. Chris Rolley, SLCC president, and Mr. Jim Griffiths, the co-ordinating officer for Wales. A report from the Welsh Conference at Cwmbran will also be heard. Clerks to the community councils in West Wales need to keep up to date on the complex array of issues affecting their councils, be they the legal powers to do what their councillors would like to do to improve their area or matters of finance, health and safety, employment legislation, conduct of members or any of the other many problems affecting their councils and the ways in which they operate to serve their locality. This meeting will assist them to do this. All community council clerks in West Wales (Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion) are invited to attend and may contact the secretary, Pam Davies, telephone 01834 871573 ([email protected]">[email protected]) or the chairman, Elfyn Williams ([email protected]">[email protected]) for an Agenda.
