Pembrokeshire’s Public Services Board (PSB) has published a plan which aims to improve well-being for all people and communities in the county.
The Well-Being Plan sets out how public and private sector partners will work together to improve economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being in Pembrokeshire by strengthening joint working across service providers.
“The PSB is focused on what matters most to people and communities in Pembrokeshire,” said Tegryn Jones, chair of the PSB and chief executive of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
“We will concentrate on areas where partnership working has the greatest impact. Our collective influence can add value above and beyond what we do as individual organisations.
“Together, we are firmly committed to the principle of sustainable development. What we do today has an impact tomorrow and we need to deliver for both current and future generations.”
Following publication of a well-being assessment last May, and a subsequent period of engagement and consultation with stakeholders and the public, the PSB identified four priority areas for making the county a better place for everyone: living and working in Pembrokeshire, resourceful communities, tackling rurality and protecting our environment.
The PSB will deliver eight projects - such as working towards becoming carbon neutral, celebrating our county’s great outdoors and strengthening community participation - to meet its priorities.
The PSB is a statutory strategic partnership established under the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act. The board is made up of representatives from a wide range of organisations which deliver services across the county.
The act requires that members of the PSB work together to improve well-being by thinking more about the longer-term, working better with people, communities and each other; and looking to prevent problems before they happen.
