Sir,
Re. all the talk about second homes in Tenby, things move on. One lady said in last week’s Letters, you could fill rooms in bed and breakfast hotels and guest houses. It would cost too much to convert flats back to hotels, so you would have lots of empty flats as well as empty shops in the town.
We all benefit from second homes and holiday homes. Painters, builders, shops, restaurants and I’m sure T. P. Hughes supplies carpets, furniture etc.
PCC must have an ‘unlucky dip’ for Tenby. They want to close the Avenue Centre, the Library and the Museum; next thing out of the unlucky dip will be second homes. They don’t like Tenby and Saundersfoot, they never have. It makes me feel like they want to kill off Tenby.
As for people coming to retire in Tenby and becoming a burden on the NHS, they have paid all their lives to the NHS, so why don’t they deserve to live in a lush place when they retire.
Dicky Lewis,
Tenby.
