An appeal has been made on social media to track down a mindless ‘numpty’ who unashamedly churned up a Pembrokeshire football pitch, by senselessly spinning around the playing fields in broad daylight in their VW car!
Tenby resident Claire Stubbs was out walking her dog on the afternoon of Monday, June 2 when she spotted the seleflish actions of the driver, and subsequently shared a video on Facebook of the culprit, with a surfboard on the car’s roof, seemingly spending part of their afternoon, deliberately churning up parts of the pitch that is home to Manorbier United FC.
“Anyone know this numpty skidding around churning up the football pitch in Manorbier? It was approx 12.30pm today (Monday, June 2),” she stated in a post that has since been shared hundreds of times over.
It prompted outrage online, with one person posting: “That’s disgusting and shameful - should be punished!”
Even local police officer and Tenby RNLI deputy coxwain, Rob Garland couldn’t resist wading in with fury, posting underneath the video on Facebook: “Can’t be too many black VW Polos/Golfs about, with surf boards on the roof? What an absolute bell end.”
Only days ago, the village’s playing fields hosted the 2nd Division Cup Final showdown between Fishguard Sports and Camrose, with the hosts commenting on how the pitch was ‘looking immaculate’.

A spokesperson for Manorbier Utd said: “Unfortunately, we've just received video footage showing a black VW Polo driving across our football pitch, causing significant damage to the playing surface. We’re asking for your help — if anyone recognises the driver, or can provide a name or registration number, please contact the club directly.
“All information will be passed to the police. This kind of mindless damage affects the whole community, especially the young players who rely on the pitch. Thank you for your support.”
