A weekly winter ‘warm room’ project has restarted once again at a community pub in Pembrokeshire.

The staff, volunteers and committee members of the community pub in Crymych have been celebrating again with the success of clinching funding for the ‘Cwtsh Cynnes’ Warm Room project at the Crymych Arms, which offers a weekly Thursday afternoon warm space for local people to meet up, socialise and have a full cooked dinner for £5 a head.

The initiative is part of the Keep Warm Keep Well support from PAVS and Pembrokeshire County Council. Funding has been secured for providing warm rooms across Pembrokeshire.

The volunteer committee members of the community pub in Crymych commented: “We are so grateful to PAVS and the Keep Warm Keep Well team for providing the support funding to allow us to deliver the meals at a reduced cost for local people.

“It is great that people in the community have a chance to use places supported by the Warm Room grant to have a few hours socialising on a Thursday afternoon and an affordable cooked meal.”

The staff at the community pub in Crymych are also opening the pub up for customers on Thursday and Friday afternoons to encourage the use of the community pub as a warm space in Crymych.

Anyone interested in coming along to the Warm Room needs to phone the community pub on 01239 831435 to confirm the numbers for lunch and be there by 12 noon on a Thursday afternoon.

The Cwtsh Cynnes warm room is starting earlier in the year this winter and will run until the end of March 2026.

The subsidised lunches have proved very successful in previous years and encourage people to come together in the Crymych area.
