Last Saturday, a large group of Steps2Health walkers gathered at the bus stop awaiting the 10.30 bus to New Hedges before embarking on an hour-long country walk.
Several walkers tried to use the public conveniences, but found them closed. Others at the bus stop, obviously on holiday, were similarly inconvenienced.
In Tenby we have - North Beach toilets - closed for the winter; South Beach toilets - closed for the winter; Castle Beach toilets - closed for refurbishment; Salterns Car Park toilets - closed for the winter; Fire Station toilets - closed for ever; main bus stop toilets - closed last Saturday morning; Frog Street toilets - open, but ladies difficult to access; Butts Field toilets - open all year... hooray!
Unfortunately, using the Butts Field toilets would mean missing the bus and probably the next one as well.
Thank goodness for country hedges!
