Saundersfoot welcomed Wales in Bloom judges today (July 6), on a sunny day in the seaside village.

The judges conducted a walkabout of the village, perusing over plant selection, prioritising perennial or pollinator friendly plants over annuals.

They also looked at maintenance of planted areas to ensure the village takes account of biodiversity throughout the seasons. Judges also focused on use of sustainable practices and materials wherever possible.

Volunteers have already taken part in several litter picks in the village, with more in the pipeline.

“We hope that anyone having any form of flower display will keep tending them throughout the season,” said Saundersfoot Community Council chair Cllr Martyn Williams.
