Sir, I have often stayed in Tenby and offer the following suggestions to make access easier than at present: 1. From North Beach car park to North Beach, a foot tunnel as in Ilfracombe. The current ramp and near vertical steps are unsuitable for most visitors. 2. From North Beach car park to North Beach, an access tunnel for those who wish to launch small boats. It should not be necessary to have such traffic going through the town centre to Tenby harbour. 3. A lift from seats opposite W. H. Smith down to North Beach (as in Folkestone, Babbacombe and Scarborough). A similar lift to South Beach from te Esplanade. Users to pay for rides. 4. Tunnel through railway embankment from Salterns to South Beach car park. Thus less traffic going up into town. 5. A frequent small bus service to the harbour from North Beach and multi-storey car parks and to the far end of the Esplanade. 6. An 'open-top' tour bus going round main attractions. 7. A coat of paint on fronts of many properties. £500 is not too much to spend on each to improve on the current 'tattiness' of too many. Tenby needs visitors to survive and they need to be impressed and helped to get to facilities and attractions easily. Many don't know what is past the main street because of the distance to walk, amount of traffic and hilliness of the area.
