David Rees, lifeboat visits officer (LVO) for Tenby Lifeboat Station, is pictured accepting a donation of £1,125 from Mr. Mark Beynon-Evans, on behalf of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club South West Wales, at their recent meeting at the Nant y Ffin Hotel, Llandissilio.
Said David: "This is a substantial donation and is very gratefully accepted. It costs the RNLI in the region of £2million-plus every week to run the whole organisation, and it is involved in rescuing more than 8,000 people per year. This is made possible only through public support and donations and the dedication of volunteer crew members and others who work for and support the charity." Any organisation or school wanting to visit the station can contact David on 01834 845694, or the Lifeboat Station on 01834 842197, to arrange a suitable time for organised tours. There is no charge for this, but donations would always be gratefully accepted.
