Tenby councillors have been asked to give their views on Pembrokeshire County Council's licensing policy, which is set for a review by the authority.
At Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, members discussed various aspects of the policy statement, with Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas suggesting that the authority needed to consider the 'prevention of public nuisance' aspect of the policy.
"It's something which is a growing problem across the county and especially in places like our town in the summer," she said.
Although specific to Tenby, the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans, wanted the café culture restrictions to be licensed more closely, as she felt that some places in the town during the no traffic scheme encroached off their properties too much.
Clr. Mrs. Thomas also felt that it was regrettable that the town council was no longer considered statutory consultees for the county council on certain licensing matters.
"It's a bit upsetting that we can't pass comment on issues that affect our town. People need to know that if they have a complaint or issue, then they need to bring it to the council so we can pass on their concerns, as that appears to be all we can do," she said.
Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Evans suggested writing to the county council to see if they could change their policy to consider the town council as a consultee once again.
