After 123 years of trading, the owners of TP Hughes in Tenby have confirmed that they are closing the doors of the store for good.
The home furnishings side of the store situated on Upper Frog Street, known as TP Hughes Interiors, will close at the end of March, 2026.
The previous clothing and accessories aspect of the long-established business, fronting the High Street, Upper Frog Street and St. Nicholas Lane, including the extensions into Bank Lane, closed back in 2017, with national department store group M&Co taking over.
That building is currently in the process of being turned into a luxury spa hotel, restaurant and café.
Sharing the news, Chris and Anna of TP Hughes Ltd said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers past and present for their custom, support and friendship over the years.”
It is promised that an ‘exciting new retail hub’ will take over in Summer 2026.
The closing down sale of TP Hughes [known as being ‘the heart of Tenby since 1902’] will begin at 9am, on Saturday, December 27.
