The Veteran Horse Society is now issuing passports to all horses and ponies no matter what age. As an organisation dedicated to the welfare of horses, they are able to keep the cost affordable for all horse owners, as all their staff work voluntarily and any profits or donations go directly to their rehabilitation centre in Pembrokeshire.
Louise Goldsmith has recently taken the post as VHS passport officer and said from the society's head office: "The response has been amazing, we sent out over 2,000 applications last week alone. Prices start from just £5 for charity owned ponies and horses and those owned by riding schools; for private owners prices range from £7.50 to just £12.50.
"Due to the amount of requests, we do ask that we receive a self addressed envelope, as the cost to the society would be far too great, or you can always download a form from our website: http://www.veteran-horse-society.co.uk."">www.veteran-horse-society.co.uk."
If you would like an application form, send an sae to: Passports Office, Veteran Horse Society, Hendre Fawr Farm, St. Dogmaels, Cardigan, SA43 3LZ.
The passport office is now open Tuesday to Thursday between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm, tel. 01239 881300.
