First Minister Eleuned Morgan joined in VE Day 80th anniversary celebrations in Narberth on the weekend, where the local branch of the Royal British Legion held a ‘picnic in the park’ event at the Townsmoor.
RBL members, local residents, Narberth’s Mayor and local councillors all attended the occasion on Saturday, May 10.

“There have been 80 summers since VE day. This was a wonderful way to honour the men and women of the generation who served,” said the First Minister.
“It was great to see some familiar faces, including County Councillor for Narberth - Marc Tierney, and meet lots of new people too.

“Thanks to Elizabeth Rogers (Deputy Mayor) and the British Legion members for a lovely afternoon. The Royal British Legion’s Narberth Branch recently celebrated its centenary.
“I was delighted to present Chair, Martyn Phillips with their anniversary pennant which was added to their Standard.

“The Royal British Legion support serving and ex-serving personnel all year round, every day of the week. They have local branches across Wales and are always ready to welcome new members,” she added.
