An unlawful ‘squatter’ has been told by local authorities that they cannot carry on camping at a spot overlooking one of Tenby’s picturesque beaches.

Pembrokeshire County Council, Tenby town council and the local police authority have all been liasing this week on trying to remove the person responsible for pitching two tents on the walkway down to Tenby’s North Beach, alongside the harbour area.

“Camping at this location is unlawful and we are working with other agencies to move them on,” said a spokesperson for Pembrokeshire County Council.

The clerk for Tenby town council, Mr. Andrew Davies commented: “He has been informed that he is on public land and, if he is homeless, he should present himself as such to PCC.

“The harbourmaster has been tasked with informing the person that he cannot stay there.

“The police have said that they will work with PCC to move them,” he added.
