A squad of 17 had come together eager to build on the earlier success in the season. The match at Neyland had been fair, hard and fast and we were all hoping for a repeat performance (writes Waterboy).
The pitch was magnificent, and bathed in floodlight (sorry Tim); the arena was set for a super-charged spectacle.
The large band of parents and supporters were soon rewarded by an early Tenby try and both sides battled hard to keep the ball live and moving.
The game was refereed by 'Gethin' and the young players were quickly being advised and guided and a clean fast moving spectacle was enjoyed by teams and supporters alike.
Tenby Swifts were pleased to welcome Jamie Nicholas into the squad, and Team Griffiths were soon able to experiment with new positions and responsibilities for the lads.
Neyland battled hard throughout, but were eventually overwhelmed by the well-drilled Tenby side. Future games are looked forward to, with an opportunity to build on the experiences gained over the last seasons.
With a team full of huge effort, it would be difficult to single out individual performances, but the well-worked final touchdown with the ball moved quickly down the backs led to a fine try from Andrew Stretton.
Try scorers were Danny Williams (3), Rob Collie (3), Luke Dedman (2) and Andrew Stretton, with Guto Griffiths converting six.
Full squad: Sam Baker, Guto Griffiths, Danny Williams, Andrew Stretton, Huw Evans, Henry Boot, Luke Dedman, Rob Collie, Ben Griffiths, Mathew Watkins, Richard Jones, Simon Stanford, Jamie Robins, Iwan Lawrence, Joe Lewis, Scott Davidson and Jamie Nicholas
