Pembs U10s 90-9 West Glamorgan 73-8

On a very damp wicket at BSC Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire Under 10s batted first and scored a very creditable 90-9 in their 35 overs. Runs were very difficult to come by due to the conditions, but Kurtis Marsh led the way with 24 (retired), followed by Scott Jones on 16, with Elgan Roberts and Kieran Griffiths also batting extremely well. For West Glamorgan, Simon Mugford 2-17, Alex Thomas 3-3 and Morgan Jones 1-2, were the pick of the bowlers. Dafydd Davies behind the stumps had an exceptional game. Pembrokeshire's opening bowlers, Tom Murphy and Greg Thompson, bowled well, with Greg picking up the first wicket. Luke Palmer-Davies and Sean Coaker also picked up wickets in tight spells. Yori Roberts and Liam Cullen continued the good work and Alex Codd also picked up a wicket with his off-breaks. It was left to Kurtis Marsh (this week's man of the match) to round off proceedings with 2-7. Toby Poole also had a very good game behind, with one good take and a run out. West Glamorgan finished on 73-8, with Alex Thomas 15 and Simon Mugford not out 11, being the pick of the batsmen. Kurtis Marsh quite rightly took the applause this week for his excellent batting and bowling. This finished off an excellent weekend for this young sportsman as he also picked up the 'man of the match' honour in his football tournament on the Saturday.
