Fire broke out at the former Farmers Arms public house in Market Street, Whitland, at approximately 2.30 pm on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters from the town wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and one jet to extinguish the blaze, which involved the first floor and roof. The property was empty at the time and was due for demolition this week. Police confirmed yesterday (Thursday) that two young men had been arrested on suspicion of arson and bailed pending further inquiries.
